Fijiana XVs head coach Senirusi Seruvakula has made seven changes to the line-up that defeated South Africa 21-17 last week for their final RWC2021 pool match against the French at Northland Events Centre this Saturday.
The changes include a positional switch to the second row in one of the two changes made in the forwards, which sees Karalaini Naisewa move to the flanks paving the way for Sereima Leweniqila at the base of the scrum. Having made way for Naisewa, Sulita Waisega moves to the bench.
In the backline, Seruvakula retained only two from last week’s line-up by way of Sesenieli Donu starting at inside centre and Roela Radiniyavuni at fullback.
Seruvakula has also opted for experience on the bench with players like Bitila Tawake, Mereoni Vonosere, Bulou Vasuturaga likewise Talei Wilson, and Lavena Cavuru.
Commenting on his selection Seruvakula said: “We have named players who are physical and can counter the experienced French side. These players have put their hands up during the training we had for the last two days.
“I know it’s a huge task but nothing is impossible. I believe in these players and I know they are ready to go and give their best shot. We have strong players on the bench who will certainly keep up with the momentum of the game if substituted.”
The match is scheduled for a 6.15pm kick-off on Saturday.
