With the 2027 Rugby World Cup in mind, Flying Fijians Head Coach Mick Byrne says this is the ultimate goal for his tenure in the role.
Speaking at his first press conference today in Suva, Byrne said he has also spoken to senior players in the Flying Fijians side.
“I’ve had a meeting with captain Waisea Nayacalevu and we had a good chat about what we want to achieve in all our games this year leading to 2027.”
Byrne says he is also looking forward to working with a new coaching panel to steer a path forward towards this goal.
“The coaching panel has been selected and we’re just waiting now for official communications to be made before we announce it.”
