The Republic of Fiji Military Forces will be seeking reconciliation and restoration with the Yasana o Macuata on Saturday beginning with a discussion with former soldiers who were involved in the takeover of the Sukanaivalu VC Barracks in the upheavals of the coups.
In a media alert, the RFMF said the program will begin with a church service at its base in Labasa.
“Following the service, RFMF Commander Major General Jone Kalouniwai will hold a series of talanoa sessions with former military personnel who were involved in the takeover of Sukanaivalu VC Barracks and the event will conclude with a traditional Fijian reconciliation ceremony ‘na veisorosorovi”.
“On the following day, the RFMF will be seeking forgiveness from the Province of Macuata through a reconciliation ceremony conducted in accordance with Fijian protocol.”
