Reigning Champions Dominate Day 1 Fiji Secondary Schools Netball Finals

Except for the Adi Cakobau School U17 team, all reigning champions in the secondary school girls’ category remained undefeated on the first day of the Punjas Digicel Secondary Schools Netball Finals, which featured a total of 130 games across six divisions including Under 14, 15, 17, and 19, as well as the open and boys categories.

In the competition that kicked off yesterday at Suva’s National Netball Centre, Suva Grammar School secured wins across the U14 (SGS 11-6 Niusawa Methodist High School), U17 (9-5 Swami Vivekananda College; 10-1 Savusavu Secondary School), and U19 categories (16-5 Niusawa Methodist High School; 17-5 Ba Methodist High School). In the same grades, reigning champions ACS dominated their U14 (ACS One 12-3 Swami Vivekananda College) and U19 matches (14-5 Tabia Sanatan College; 17-2 Rakiraki Public High School), except for a U17 loss (ACS 7-11 Cuvu College) alongside a win (ACS 11-1 Naleba College).

In the U15 category, reigning champions Jasper maintained their title hopes with a clean record from two games, defeating Dreketi Central College and Holy Family Secondary 10-4 and 21-2 respectively. In the boys’ division, Suva Grammar School, the reigning champs, secured wins of 11-6 against Napuka Secondary and 9-7 against Nadi Muslim College.
