Registrar registers and approves Rabuka’s People’s Alliance party application

The People’s Alliance, the party of former Fiji Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka, has been approved and registered as a Fijian Political Party, Registrar of Political Parties, Mohammed Saneem confirms.

The confirmation comes almost 30 days since Rabuka applied for registration.

“We received one objection which was dealt with and thereafter it has been found that the applicant has successfully furnished all the particulars required under the law and hence the party has been duly registered,” the Registrar said.

The People’s Alliance becomes the 10th registered political party under the Political Parties (Registration, Conduct, Funding and Disclosures) Act 2013.

The total number of registered parties in Fiji currently stands at eight.
