Mosese Rauluni has handed in his resignation as Head Coach of the Fijiana Drua and Fijiana XV.
Rauluni acknowledged Fiji Rugby for the opportunity to serve with the women’s team but stated the recent results have not been the one that he and the team set out to achieve.
“This decision has not been an easy one and I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Fijian Drua and Fiji Rugby Union staff, board and players for all their support over the past year. I wish the team and staff all the best for the road to the RWC.”
Rauluni will complete his term as coach at the conclusion the WXV3 series when Fiji play Spain at 4.30am on Sunday.
Fiji Rugby CEO Rovereto Nayacalevu acknowledged Rauluni’s decision adding that they were grateful for Rauluni’s dedication to the development of rugby in Fiji.
“We respect Mosese’s decision and understand the importance of family,” said FRU CEO, Rovereto Nayacalevu. “We are grateful for his hard work and dedication to Fijian rugby. His leadership will be missed by everyone at the FRU and the rugby community.”
In the meantime, FRU is working to appoint a replacement to continue the work of preparing the team for the Women’s Rugby World Cup to be held in England next year.
