Rydges Wailoaloa Resort, a 5-star rated establishment will be the new face in the hotel industry in the not-too-distant future.
Owned by the Punja Group of Companies, the 258-room hotel will open its doors in June 2026, with construction beginning in June this year.
Chairman of the Punja Group, Hari Punja said the project will cost $230 million and is aimed at giving both locals and tourists the same experience of class, elegance, and relaxation.
“It will be managed and operated by Rydges Australia. I aim to give both locals and tourists the same experience. We don’t want any discrimination against locals,” Mr Punja said.
He said they will also work on connecting the Bula Bus service from Denarau Island to Crown Plaza and Rydges Wailoaloa.
Other investments that the Punjas Group is currently working on include the Nasese Prime Residential development, commercial blocks in Korolevu, Sigatoka, commercial and residential land developments in Wailoaloa also, and two modern gas terminals in Lami and Labasa.
