Public Urged To Remain Vigilant – NDMO

The Fiji National Disaster Management Office urges the public to stay vigilant and follow safety advisories.

Flood alerts are active for several areas, including downstream of Nayavu Station, Nairukuruku Station, and the main Rewa River.

High tides are expected this afternoon in Suva and Lautoka, at 3.50 pm and 3.53 pm respectively.

Heavy rain alerts are in effect for various regions, and residents should be prepared for potential flooding of roads, and bridges, and disruptions to traffic.

Flash flooding is likely in low-lying areas, and the public is strongly advised to avoid crossing or swimming in flooded areas where water is above knee level.
