Fiji’s public service commission confirmed five permanent secretaries appointments today with Shiri Krishna Gounder as PS Economy, Pita Tagicakirewa as PS iTaukei Affairs, Dr Vinesh Kumar as PS Agriculture, whilst Pene Baleinabuli takes on the additional role of PS Fisheries atop his PS Forestry role likewise Yogesh Karan as PS Foreign Affairs in addition to being Fisheries PS.
PSC chair Vishnu Mohan confirmed the appointments today – the first three had been acting in their roles following the departure of their predecessors.
Goundar had been acting in the role of PS Economy since Makareta Konrote departed in March this year, Tagicakirewa as PS iTaukei since July this year following the death of Meleti Bainimarama, and Dr Vinesh had been acting PS Agriculture since the resignation of Ritesh Dass three months ago.
Baleinabuli and Karan were overseeing the PS roles for Foreign Affairs and Fisheries respectively in an acting capacity in addition to their substantive roles.
