Prevost hopeful for Tourism recovery

Believing that good things are still in store for tourism in Fiji, in particular pearl farming is what keeps Claude Prevost going.

Owner of Taveuni’s very own Civa Pearl’s, Prevost’s story is one of perseverance and belief that despite COVID-19 and TC Yasa, the industry will return to normal again, if not better.

MaiTV News met him out at his pearl shack out on the waters off Navakacoa village, Prevost was harvesting pearls, his second since COVID19 struck Fiji a second time around.

“After 18 months of misery, we on Taveuni have begun to prepare for what is to be Fiji’s reopening to the world.”

“There is a positive vibe in the air. We must do all we can to promote tourism in Fiji, protect our environment.”

“Part of this positive move is the appointment of our new President of Fiji Ratu Wiliame Katonivere who is a defender of the oceans,” Prevost said.
