The annual Fiji Law Society Convention, a gathering of Fiji’s legal minds is expected to generate discussions and that is to further enhance the work of lawyers and their service delivery.
With the theme ‘Equity, Ethics and Empowerment: Navigating a Transformative Legal Landscape’, the Convention is hearing from experts from Fiji and abroad after it is officially opened by Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka on Friday 19th January.
Amongst the topics will be the legal implications and the role of sports law in protecting Pacific islands sports people locally and abroad and FIFA’s Judge from its Dispute Resolution Chamber, Dr Sihon Gauci Gonzalez, will be the speaker.
Panelists for this session are Ana Tuiketei, who is an arbitrator with the Court of Arbitration in Lausanne Switzerland and Sale Sorovaki, Fiji Rugby Union’s General Manager Operations & Development.
Another session which is being billed as a drawcard is on the second day titled ‘Over Promising and Under Delivering’. This session basically covers the importance of managing customer service expectations, the impact of technology on customer service amongst other things.
Panelists for the session include Kameli Batiweti from Fiji Airways, Patricia Naisara from Westpac, former Fiji TV News anchor Viliame Leqa who now operates a customer service training consultancy in Nadi and Liliana Warid a business consultant.
The 2-day event will be held at the Shangri La’s Fijian Resort from Friday 19 to Saturday 20th January.
