Police take on Army in Lautoka 7s Series Cup quarterfinal match-up

Today’s quarterfinal match-ups for the women’s competition of the Lautoka Super 7s Series have been drawn up with the Cup clash between Police and Army game set to be an exciting encounter.

Police take on Army in the second Cup quarters on day two of games at Churchill Park, in an encounter that is a repeat of one of the semi-final matches of the previous 7s leg in Sigatoka, which the latter had won 38-0.

However, in progressing into their match-up this morning, Police secured their place on the back of a clean slate, having won three from three in the pool rounds compared to Army. Police heaped big scorelines in their opening two games, a 31-5 defeat of Lautoka, and 31-0 victory over Savusavu, before edging Fire Wardens 17-12 in their final pool game. Army, on the other hand, had won two from three, their only defeat were to the NZ Women 5-0 in their opening pool game.

The Police versus Army quarterfinal match is scheduled for 9.20am following the Seahaws vs ACS Old Girls game at 9am. In the other Cup quarters, Rosi Ni Yasawa take on Lautoka and NZ Women face Fire Wardens. Following the Cup quarters is the Bowl Semi-finals featuring Valkyries against Savusavu followed by Striders versus Marist.

The women’s playoff matches will kick-start at 6.10pm culminating with the finals at 7.50pm.
