Police are requesting information into what is believed to have been a hit-and-run accident in Sigatoka early this morning after a 24-year-old man was found lying motionless in the middle of the road.
He was taken to the Sigatoka Hospital where he died an hour later.
The incident happened at the Muni Ratnam Junction along Queens Road after 2am, police said.
The victim who resided at Korotogo Back Road was last seen by a 36-year old man who was on his way to drop a passenger at Korotogo near the Oloolo Junction. The man offered the victim a ride which he allegedly refused. It is alleged that sometimes later another witness, a 35-year old driver from Malaqereqere saw the victim lying motionless in the middle of the road.
“We request anyone who may have information or may have seen anything after 2 am along the above-mentioned areas to call Crime Stoppers on 919. Investigators have interviewed both witnesses as investigations continue.”
