The suspect in the MPAISA scam, who escaped from police custody on Monday morning, has been recaptured.
The 36-year-old mechanic from Viseisei, Lautoka, was arrested in Nadi following a tip-off.
Acting Assistant Commissioner for Operations Livai Driu acknowledged the public’s support and stated that the suspect would be transported back to Suva for processing.
Investigations into those who assisted and harbored him will also take place, with legal consequences for those responsible.
