Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu has confirmed he’ll meet with Republic of Fiji Military Forces Commander Ro Jone Kalouniwai on Monday to discuss working together to keep Fiji safe and address the country’s drug problem.
Tudravu said the meeting will also serve as information sharing session between the disciplined forces.
“I want to confirm that I will be holding a joint briefing with the Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces on Monday 12th January, to strengthen current working arrangements.”
“Cooperation between our two institutions is not new. A holistic approach is needed to tackle drugs, and we welcome all support towards these efforts.”
Tudravu also confirmed that police are looking into the allegations of death threats made against Australian resident Alex Forwood.
“I can confirm that we are aware of the messages being circulated about death threats made against her and the Fiji Police is looking into it, we will get to the bottom of this.”
Earlier, images of the Viber messages containing the death threats were circulated on social media.
