Police arrest 32 for breach of COVID19 rules

Fiji Police arrested 32 people overnight for breaching COVID 19 restrictions including curfew and isolation orders and crossed containment area boundaries.

Of the 32 arrests, fifteen (15) was recorded in the Western Division, 12 in the Southern Division and five people arrested in the Eastern Division.

In the West, four people were arrested for crossing the Naria containment area to Rakiraki town, a case of breaching isolation protocol was also recorded at Nokonoko village in Rakiraki while a 36-year-old man crossed the Dokanavatu containment area to Nasereilagi village. Six were found drinking at Nawakaevu in Nadi, and three men were found loitering around.

Of the arrests in the Eastern Division, Police picked up four drunken men in their 20’s at Vanuadina village in Tailevu. The fifth case was reported in Levuka for loitering.

In the Eastern Division, six were found drinking alcohol in the Muslim League area in Nabua, four others were arrested for a similar case in Delainavesi while two men were found walking along Tadeva road in Navua during curfew.
