Parents urged to send kids to school as classes resume tomorrow

Classes in West schools resume tomorrow, so too external exams across the country for students in years 12 and 13 whose schedule remains unchanged, Fiji Minister for Education confirms.

This means all schools in Fiji will open for classes for ECE to year 13 tomorrow.

“It is important for years 1 to 11 to attend classes in this term, which is the fourth term for the academic year 2021, to catch up with the lost hours of learning because of the closure of schools for over 8 months,” Kumar said.

She urges parents to take extra care of their children by ensuring they observe COVID-Safe protocols in their homes, communities, and school.

Inclement weather last week that caused flooding prompted the closure of West schools, and as a result external exams for years 12 and 13 were postponed.
