Ministers and representatives from Forum member countries convene in Suva over the next two days for the PIF Women Leaders to ensure focus on gender across Forum priorities when the leaders meet in the Cook Islands later this year.
The meeting will entail the presentation of the revitalised Pacific Leaders Gender Equality Declaration (PLGED) for discussion, dialogue with civil society and continued discussions on the vision of the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific.
Chaired by Cook Islands Minister for Health Bainetura Rose Toki-Brown, the meeting will also be attended by representatives of associated PIF members and the Council of Regional Organisations in the Pacific (CROP).
This is the second of its kind since the inaugural meeting in February 2021.
The Forum Leaders meeting is scheduled for November 6-10 in Rarotonga.
