Online Safety Commission continues to combat AI related crimes

One of the biggest challenges the Online Safety Commission still faces is the rise of artificial intelligence and the crimes associated with it.

Joshua Singh, the prosecutor for the Commission said they were receiving complaints pertaining to this issue daily.

“The challenges we have so far is the rise in the artificial intelligence, the offenses that is being committed by our young people as well as our older people as well.”

“We have cases where we have complaints from and about Tik Tok and how this is affecting our daily work in the office.”

Singh said they were directing cases onto the Fiji Police Force once they have assessed the cases.

“Our job is to receive complaints, our job to is assess the evidence and then my job is to advise the commission. Once the commission endorses then the files are sent to the Police then they take the baton determining way to lay the charges.”
