The Fiji Meteorological Service is closely monitoring the development of TD01F, the first system of the 2023-2024 Tropical Cyclone Season, which has the potential to become a tropical cyclone.
The tropical disturbance, TD01F, is situated to the east-northeast of the Solomon Islands, and could develop into a tropical cyclone early next week.
While it is not an immediate threat to the Fiji Group, residents are advised to stay informed and prepared, especially as the official cyclone season approaches.
The Fiji Meteorological Service says it will monitor the development of TD01F over the next few days, and provide updates to the public.
The official tropical cyclone season in the region is set to begin on November 1.
