The Fijian Drua have Philip Baselala as their halfback and now the Fijian Drua Women have his younger sister and former Adi Cakobau School student, Noelani Baselala.
The Kadavu siblings have both relocated to Nadi and are at training with their respective sides.
Noelani said today that a professional career in the sport was never on her mind.
“My parents were so strict when we were growing up, our focus was education.”
“I never thought I’d have a future in rugby because my parents were so focused on us excelling academically.”
Coach Mosese Rauluni said Baselala was amongst the youngest of the girls in the group.
“We have her and also Sulita Waisega who are young and promising.”
