NCF backs 2022 FIPRA ‘Best Gospel Song’ category

New Methodist Christian Fellowship has signed on as a sponsor for the Fiji Performing Rights Association gala night this week, an awards ceremony held annually to recognise producers and artists whose music and songs have helped lifted spirits daily amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and its impacts.

NCF General Superintendent, Pastor Atunaisa Vulaono today handed over the church’s contribution in support of the Best Gospel Song category, for the fourth consecutive year to FIPRA Director Laisa Vulakoro who expressed the organisation’s gratitude.

“We are always grateful for their continued support,” Ms Vulakoro said.

Pastor Atunaisa said their support of the Best Gospel Song award is centered on young people and using music “to draw them to the Lord.”

“And for us, we use a lot of songs in our worship and in praising, so it is just right for us to sponsor the Best Gospel song award.”

The two songs that have been nominated for the award are Biliraki, sung by Pojee and composed by Steven Vereakula, and Tamaqu was performed and composed by Tomasi Radakua.

The awards ceremony opens tomorrow with the 2020 and 2021 FIPRA Music Awards that will be held virtually live-streamed from the Grand Pacific Hotel at 5 pm. The 2022 ceremony proper will be held at the same venue the following day, starting at 5.30pm.
