Namosi are the new winners of the Subrail Marama Cup after defeating FMF Suva 34 – 24 at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva today.
Both sides both had Fijiana XV and Fijian Drua players in them and this proved to add depth to their game.
Namosi captain Laisani Navukaro acknowledged the support of the vanua o Nabukebuke, the fans and their individual families for supportin the girls throughout the season.
“This win is for all of you. You could have chosen to not support us but you didn’t back down. You supported us 100% and this is where we are today.”
Navukaro said the capital city side gave them a good run but she had faith in her team.
“We’ve been through alot together, and today that bond showed through. Suva really gave us a good run, we felt their strength but I am so glad the girls stuck to our game plan.”
Liviana Naidei scored two tries for Suva, and one to Teresia Matea
For Namosi, tries were scored by Rusila Nagasau, two tries to Ivamere Rokowati, Josivini Neihamu, Filomena Niulele, Varitema Adi and Viniana Riwai.
