Malakai Naiyaga has been appointed Executive Chairman of Fiji’s Revenue and Customs Service (FRCS), and he will assume the position starting next Tuesday.
This appointment comes after Mark Dixon stepped down as FRCS CEO, finishing formally at month’s end.
In addition to his responsibilities as Executive Chairman, Naiyaga will also oversee the recruitment process for finding a replacement for Dixon’s role as CEO.
Naiyaga brings specific expertise in finance, insurance, financial services, and investments, gained from his previous positions as a former CEO and senior executive in financial services institutions both in Fiji (including the former CEO of BSP Life) and abroad.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Professor Biman Prasad expressed full confidence in Naiyaga’s leadership and technical abilities for the role, as well as in the decisions made by the Board as they lead FRCS forward following Dixon’s departure.
