Naitasiri to host Namosi in Skipper Cup/Farebrother doubleheader

Fiji Rugby’s provincial competition starts in two weeks’ time with Naitasiri hosting Namosi at Naluwai Ground in the must-see Skipper round one match on Saturday 19 March that doubles as the first Farebrother trophy challenge for the year.

In other matches, Suva hosts Nadi at ANZ Stadium, Northland will play Rewa at Gatward Park in Korovou, and Nadroga battles it out against Tailevu at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka. All main matches are scheduled to kick-off at 3pm, after the U-19 age-grade hit out.

Officiating at today’s launch, Fiji Rugby CEO John O’Connor and sponsors’ CJ Patel Group Marketing Manager Ashwin Prasad expressed delight at the recommencement of the provincial competition particularly after the 2021 season was cut short by COVID-19 restrictions.

The senior men’s winner in the 2022 Fiji Rugby Skipper Provincial Cup will be awarded $30,000 with the runner-up to be awarded $15,000. The winner of the Under-19s competition will receive $5,000 and the runner-up prize money is $2,000.
