Fijian Drua skipper Nemani Nagusa will miss the Fijian Super Rugby franchise home game against the Highlanders in Suva at the end of this month.
Nagusa copped a 4-week ban for a high tackle in the Fijian Drua’s 14-38 loss to the Waratahs last weekend.
The Fijian No.8 will not only miss the Drua’s lone home game of the season scheduled to be played at the ANZ Stadium on 30 April, he will also miss the Brumbies game this Saturday and the Blue games on 23 April likewise the following week’s fixture against the Hurricanes on 8 May. The Blues game is also the Drua’s first match against a New Zealand franchise this season.
Nagusa completes his ban on 9 May in time to be considered for the match against fellow Super debutants Moana Pasifika on 14 May at the CommBank Stadium in Parramatta, New South Wales.
Handed down today, the ruling by the SANZAAR Foul Play Review Committee of Michael Heron QC (Chairman), Stefan Terblanche and John Langford suspended Nagusa for four weeks from all forms of the game, up to and including 8 May 2022.
The incident occurred in the 26th minute of the match between the Fijian Drua and Waratahs played at CBUS Super Stadium on the Gold Coast on 1 April 2022.
