Authorities have cancelled the 2020 Kula Awards, and will host a mobile movie competition instead.
Minister for Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport Faiyaz Koya said the cancellation was due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Acting Chief Executive Officer of Film Fiji, Jone Tikoca said the alternative competition will enable budding film-makers to use their mobile phones to produce a 1 to 5-minute short video, on a COVID-19 related theme.
Participants are advised to ensure their projects reflect COVID-19 measures including social distancing protocols. More details on the competition will be available on Film Fiji’s website and Facebook page.
