Missionary service leads Lim to Tacilevu

Serving the needy, offering shelter and sowing seeds of peace are some attributes that have driven Pastor Sung yin Lim of the South Pacific Elim Mission, in his mission work in Cakaudrove.

Overseeing the building of a $60,000 church turned evacuation centre, Pastor Lim said: “God brought me here to Fiji and I have fallen in love with this country. I now want to give back to this country and help in whatever little way I can to lift the lives of the people.”

The church situated in Tacilevu sits quaint by the highway and is a buzz of activity as workers push to finish the building soon.

“Majority of the materials that were bought was sourced in Savusavu because we wanted to generate business in our own town,” he said.

The building is expected to be completed soon.

“There is hardly any evacuation centre around here so we hope that this building will be a source of refuge when the need arises. We have included features like wheelchair ramps to be able to cater for everyone in society,” Pastor Lim said.
