LTA restricts in-person service to vaccinated customers

July 13, 2021

Fiji’s Land Transport Authority will only provide in-person service to customers who have received at least the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccination and are able to provide proof of their status via their vaccination cards.

The new entry requirement is among a number of COVID-safe measures LTA has instituted in all offices countrywide “for the health protection of staff, customers, and the community.”

Among measures that came into effect Monday this week, are restrictions imposed on personal callers to certain departments at their Valelevu office including the customer service desk, public transport unit, vehicle and driver license department, as well as the CEO’s office.

“If a customer has a need to communicate to staff within those departments, they may do so by sending an email to info@lta.com.fj in which the subject line must state the department which is being addressed. When providing details on the purpose of your message, please do not forget to include your contact details,” LTA said in a statement. “If you are aware of the email address of the person with whom you are to directly deal with, regarding your issue, then please feel free to email them directly.”

Customers in the Lami-Suva-Nausori zone are also advised to anticipate longer waiting times given that only skeletal staff will be at work on a daily basis in line with COVID-safe protocols. For routine transactions such as the payment of fines, driving licence renewals, test bookings, customers are advised to access LTA’s eServices portal online. Application forms can be downloaded from the LTA website.

LTA COVID-safe protocols:

  1. Visitors must have completed, at the very least, the 1st round of COVID-19 vaccination. Proof of this must be provided through the production of the vaccination card, for which an identity check will be performed by security staff.
  2. Visitors must have the careFIJI app installed and operational on their mobile devices and they will be asked to sign in by swiping the check-in entry QR Code.
  3. Visitors will have to undergo a mandatory temperature check and their hands will be sanitised.
