Lautoka Zone: Mudreilagi’s blue ribbon shine

Nemani Mudreilagi is once again the blue ribbon winner of the Lautoka Yasawa Zone after he won the 100m event on Day 1 of the event which continues this afternoon at Churchill Park in Lautoka.

The Raiwaqa native from Nadroga ran with a time of 10.86 seconds on Friday, the first day of the event. He also won the blue ribbon event at this zone this year but came in second at the Coca Cola National Finals to Ratu Kadavulevu School’s Kolinio Radrudru.

Mudreilagi said he was proud of himself and knows his hard work has been paid off.

“It’s an exciting moment for me to win the blue ribbon. I’ve been training for the last 7 weeks and I know it’s only hard work that will get me what i want.

Also a rugby representative of his school, Mudreilagi said he was looking forward to the competition in Suva. 

“Preparation for the Coca-Cola games will be another level as there will be more competitors in Suva and I look forward to it,” said Mudreilagi

Mudreilagi also won gold the 200 meters final.

Meanwhile Adi Vika Bavui of Jasper Williams High School won the Lautoka Yasawa Zone Blue Ribbon event for the girls with a time of of 13.36s

The Coca-Cola Games National Final will take place April 16-18 at the ANZ National Stadium in Suva.
