A police officer stationed at Lautoka Police Station is set to appear in court today, charged with the unlawful possession of methamphetamine and cocaine.
The arrest follows a routine patrol operation in Natabua on Tuesday, where the officer was stopped due to suspicious behavior. During a search of his vehicle, authorities discovered two clear plastic bags containing white substances, which were later confirmed as illicit drugs.
Acting Commissioner of Police Juki Fong Chew has indicated that, pending the court’s decision, the officer will be placed on half pay after exhausting his leave.
