Labasa Women’s FC Aim to Make History at inaugural OFC Women’s Champions League

Labasa Women’s FC, representing Fiji, are set to make history as they participate in the inaugural OFC Women’s Champions League held in Papua New Guinea this week.

Known for their dominance in the local women’s football scene, Labasa women footballers aim to maintain their winning form at the regional level when they take to the pitch at Sir John Guise Stadium in Port Moresby, starting Thursday.

Labasa FC president, Rayaz Khan, told OFC of the team’s excitement and preparedness for the tournament. He said that they are not just participating to fill in the numbers but are determined to win the first-ever OFC Women’s Champions League title.

Labasa Women have been a force to reckon with in the Digicel Women’s Super League (DWSL) since 2021. Their consistent success in the domestic arena led to their qualification for the OFC Women’s Champions League 2023. In the current season, they remain unbeaten and currently lead the DWSL standings.
