The Digicel Kulas team went down 3-1 to Solomon Islands in Group A’s final match today in the Olympic Women’s Football Tournament – Oceania qualifier in Samoa.
Fiji coach Angeline Chua said the women were a bit unfocussed and will need to be consistent if they are to win against New Zealand in the second semi final on Friday.
“We seemed inconsistent at times during the game and we can’t afford that. We need to be switched on all the time.”
“We were playing a lot in their half. We decided that we will treat the semi final against NZ like a final game and after some time of recovery, we will prepare the best way we can to take on NZ.” Chua said.
Fiji’s lone goal came from a penalty to Narieta Leba.
