NBA legend Kobe Bryant and daughter Gianna were laid to rest February 7, after they died along with seven others in a helicopter crash in Calabasas, near Los Angeles, California on January 26.
CNN reports death records confirm the funeral had taken place near the Pacific coast.
According to Los Angeles County death certificates released February 11, Bryant’s resting place is Pacific View Memorial Park in Corona Del Mar, California.
“The cemetery is about two miles from the Pacific Ocean and less than a 10-minute drive from the family’s church, Our Lady Queen of Angels, in Newport Beach. No details about a graveside service were released.”
The late shooting guard, joined the NBA as a 17 year old from high school and played his entire career for the Los Angeles Lakers. A public memorial is scheduled for February 24 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles where Bryant played the game that made him famous.
Meanwhile, the National Transportation Safety Board which had been investigating the crash has released preliminary reports which indicated it had found no evidence of an engine failure. The NTSB can take up to a year to complete its final accident report which will the cause of the accident.
