The Swire Shipping Fijian Drua has secured Flying Fijians and Racing 92 centre Inia Tabuavou on a two-year contract, spanning the 2025 and 2026 seasons.
Tabuavou, a former Natabua High School student, joined the French club Racing 92 in 2020, where his robust performances in both attack and defence earned him a call-up to the Flying Fijians squad earlier this year. He made his international debut at inside centre against Georgia and the All Blacks.
“It feels good to be home, especially with the Drua family. I’m really looking forward to trying out the new environment especially the culture of the team and also type of rugby they play.”
During his time with Racing 92, Tabuavou made 21 appearances and scored three tries. His return to Fiji will see him join the Fijian Drua for pre-season training following the conclusion of the 2024 Flying Fijians Test calendar.
The Drua, who compete in the highly competitive Super Rugby Pacific, are hopeful that Tabuavou’s experience in France’s Top 14 will bolster their squad’s performance in the upcoming seasons.
