I Couldn’t Have Asked for More: Doge on Koroiduadua against Reds

When Fijian Drua Head Coach Mick Byrne named his starting lineup he made several changes that were welcomed by fans and those who follow the club.

One such noticeable change was the moving of tight-head prop Jone Koroiduadua to loose-head prop. Koroiduadua made a lot of difference and was a force to reckon with against his opponents in the Reds side.

His battling partner, Mesake Doge spoke of how the man from Nadroga ‘showed’ up in the game despite being moved from his normal position.

“That was a big challenge for Jone. He’s been a tight-head (prop) and had to change to loose-head.”

“To change your position is something hard. People don’t understand how hard it is to change your position especially from loose-head to tight-head, especially for scrums, lineouts and every role in the field.

“For him to show up like he did against the Reds was just amazing. I told him I was really proud of him and I couldn’t have asked for more.”

The team is currently training in preparation for their game against the Highlanders in Dunedin this Sunday.
