A high school student convicted of one count of aggravated robbery for which he was remanded for nearly seven months will get a second chance to complete his studies after a high court in Suva handed him a suspended sentence.
The 19-year-old was convicted after pleading guilty.
High Court Judge Justice Daniel Goundar sentenced him to 18 months imprisonment suspended for two years.
Court documents showed that on 31 March, Seru, in the company of another, robbed a 24-year-old woman of her laptop and phone, worth over $5000, after she got off the bus at Caubati.
The stolen property was recovered and returned to the victim.
