Heavy Rain Warning In Place For Parts of Fiji

A slow-moving trough of low pressure is affecting Fiji, bringing heavy rain and thunderstorms to various parts of Fiji.

With the anticipated heavy rain, a Flash Flood Warning is now in force for low-lying and flood-prone areas of Vanua Levu, Taveuni, Levuka, and southern and eastern parts of Viti Levu, while a Flash Flood Alert is now in force for the rest of western Viti Levu (Nadi-Lautoka-Ba)

For the rest of Fiji, occasional rain and isolated thunderstorms are forecasted.

Strong winds, reaching up to 45 km/hr, are expected over the land areas of Yasawa, Lau, and Lomaiviti groups, Kadavu, and nearby smaller islands.

Mariners are advised of a strong wind warning issued for all Fiji Waters, with rough seas and moderate southeasterly swells anticipated.
