A tropical disturbance moving towards the Fiji group is bringing with it heavy rain and strong winds.
The Fiji Meteorological Service says the earlier warning given only for the Northern division including Northern Lau waters is now in effect for the whole of Fiji.
“A Flash Flood Warning remains in force for all flash flood prone areas, small streams and
low lying areas of Vanua Levu and is NOW in Force for all flash flood prone areas, small
streams and low lying areas of Viti Levu.
“Tropical Disturbance TD12F lies to the west of Vanuatu, the associated trough of low
pressure extend towards the Northwest of Fiji and is anticipated to drift south and affect the
group from later today till Sunday(24/03/24).”
Authorities are calling on people to exercise caution when making plans for travel given the impending weather.
