In a statement, Fiji’s Ministry of Economy said the platform *161# for submission of requests, accessible via Digicel and Vodafone, will not be activated until 12midday.
Families needing assistance are required to submit their names, and details including residential address. The ministry has also given its reassurance that the platform “is functioning well” with Vodafone and Digicel.
“It is imperative that we have information that will allow us to locate you quickly. Requests received before 12pm on 16 May 2021 will not be registered.”

During the last Suva-Nausori lockdown early this month, more than 4,000 families were assisted.
Meanwhile, ahead of this weekend’s lockdown the ministry said it has also processed salaries for all 35,000 civil servants and oversaw the disbursement of the $90 assistance to over 118,000 households, including 37,000 recipients in Nadi-Lautoka and 81,000 recipients in the Lami-Suva-Nasinu-Nausori area.
“FNPF has also issued early payments for 37,000 Fijians receiving $220 per fortnight under Phase 2. This includes 31,000 Fijians who receive a top-up from Government. This payment was due on Tuesday of next week, but Government had paid FNPF early so that FNPF can allow Fijians to access those funds now. This week, FNPF also paid around 12,000 Fijians on reduced hours under Phase 3. Out of this, around 7,500 were supported directly by the Fijian Government. These Fijians are receiving pro rata payments based on the number of days they are not working.”
