Fiji’s Cabinet has approved a second incentive package of $5,000 per member of the FIJI Water Flying Fijians, including coaches and support staff.
This reward is in recognition of their qualification for the 2023 Rugby World Cup quarter-finals.
Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka made an official statement explaining that a first incentive package of $5,000 had already been provided to each player, coach, and support staff last month for their participation in the Rugby World Cup 2023.
Rabuka said that every player, as well as the coaching staff and management team, has not only made Fiji proud but has also brought immense joy, smiles, and hope to all Fijians.
Their qualification marks the first time Fiji has reached the quarter-finals in 16 years, with their last appearance being in 2007, and only the third time in the nation’s history.
Fiji’s upcoming match against England is scheduled for next Monday at 3am Fiji Time.
