Fijiana romp to 6-try win over Brazil, to earn Olympics’ quarters spot

True to form Reapi Uluinasau scored four of the Fijiana’s tries in their 41-6 win over Brazil, consequently etching her name in the Olympics’ record books as the first rugby 7s player to score four tries in one match at the Olympics.

Uluinasau scored three in the first half and her fourth in the second in a performance that also secured the Fijiana a spot in the top eight placings to keep their Olympic medal hopes alive.

Heading into the game, the Fijiana needed to score more than 12 points for a spot in the quarters, and they did so and more with Fiji’s other tries coming from Alowesi Nakoci and Laisana Likuceva.

The Fijiana qualify for the quarters as the runner-up from Pool B behind France.

They will await the rest of the pool games to determine who they will play in the second quarterfinals at 9 pm (Fiji Time). Preceding the quarters, the ninth-place semi-finals will take place at 7:30 pm and 8 pm local time.
