They occupy the top rung of the Super W standings underlined by their historic win over the Waratahs last weekend, but Fijiana Drua coach Senirusi Seruvakula insists on fielding an equally formidable side, not looking to take Brumbies lightly in their final pool round this week.
The Fijiana Drua notched not only a major upset but also a first in the Super W competition last week when they served the Waratahs their first loss, 29-10, in the competition since its inception in 2018.
“We are not going to treat the Brumbies lightly,” Seruvakula said.
“We will play like we have been playing week in and week out. We will stick to our game plan.”
Seruvakula has had the opportunity to observe all players in the squad in action, having provided each game time through the last four games.
“We can rotate the players, but at the same time we want to field a strong team against the Brumbies.”
Since making their debut, the Fijian Drua’s brutal defence, and off-load heavy attacking game have been the talk of the competition, culminating with their performance last week in ending Waratahs 20-game undefeated streak, but Seruvakula remains focused and wants the same for his squad so as to maintain consistency they have worked hard to build from round one.
The match is scheduled to kick-off at 7.15pm at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday.
