Fijian Drua trio excited for Brumbies game

Debutants Kaliopasi Uluilakepa and Ratu Leone Rotuisolia and Apisalome Vota who is one of nine players retained from the starting line-up that faced the Waratahs for the Brumbies game this week are excited but at the same time are under no illusion that it would be a walk in the park.

Uluilakepa has been named in the front row, Rotuisolia in second row and Vota at outside centre.

Uluilakepa and Rotuisolia are relishing the battle upfront against the Brumbies whereas, for Vota, the game presents an opportunity to improve on his game.

“I am still trying to process everything at the moment as it’s going to be a debut as well for Super Rugby and I just can’t wait to get up there,” Uluilakepa said.

For Rotuisolia the game is “exciting” as well as a “challenge” to go head to head with some of the world’s best and Vota is equally thrilled to be given a second chance to return to the pitch to step up.

In terms of how they want to finish against the Brumbies come Saturday, the trio echoed head coach Mick Byrne sentiments about focusing on themselves and what they want to execute on the day adding that the results will take care of itself.

“We’ve done our homework. We learn from our mistakes from last week,” Uluilakepa said.

The Fijian Drua travel to Canberra where they will play the Brumbies at the GIO Stadium on Saturday, with the kick-off scheduled for 3.35pm (Fiji Time).
