Fijian Drua players dominate Fiji Water Flying Fijians Head Coach Simon Raiwalui’s match-day squad to face Samoa this weekend.
Meli Derenalagi and Vilive Miramira will start on the flanks, Iosefo Masi at outside center, and Ilaisa Droasese at fullback for their Test debut. Caleb Muntz, Selesitino Ravautaumada, and Te Ahiwaru Cirikidaveta who earned their first Test cap in the 36-20 win over Tonga last week are back along with Tevita Ikanivere, Isoa Nasilasila, Simione Kuruvoli, and Kalaveti Ravouvou.
Poised to earn his Test cap off the bench is the lanky Joseva Tamani who is joined by Zuriel Togiatama, Samu Tawake, and Peni Matawalu.
Speaking on the selection Raiwalui said that they are still in the preparation phase and have a large squad, hence the need to provide everyone with the opportunity to play.
“We have named a strong squad and we are looking forward to seeing them play,” he said also highlighting the selection of Semi Radradra to lead the side as captain, praising him for his leadership on and off the field.
“Semi is a great leader on and off the field and one of the best professional players I have come across in my time in rugby. He played very well off the bench last week and we know the qualities Semi has to guide the team.”
The Flying Fijians face Manu Samoa at 2pm (Fiji Time) at Apia Park on Saturday.
