Fijian Drua But a Pathway To Greater and Better Things: Nasilasila

The Fijian Drua is a pathway to greater and better things if one uses their time and talent right, says Fijian Drua’s Isoa Nasilasila as he relishes the learnings, the exposure and the structure he is gleaning with Fiji’s Super Rugby Pacific club.

“I have always said that being in the Drua is a lifetime opportunity and its been a huge learning curve for me and the boys,” Nasilasila said.

“The Fijian Drua has helped me in so many ways, especially with my game. We did well last year and we really hope to improve this season.”

The lanky man from Vuda says younger players who have joined the squad are proving themselves through their dedication and hard work.

“Everyone is working really hard. We all understand what is to be done. Last year we reached the quarter finals, and this year the aim is to do better.”

Nasilasila, prop Mesake Doge and centre Apisalome Vota were part of the team that were present at the signing of a two-year sponsorship deal with TotalEnergies as Fijian Drua’s official energy partner.

Fijian Drua CEO Mark Evans welcomed the support saying that the company has done a lot to support rugby in Fiji with their sponsorship also of the Flying Fijians to the Rugby World Cup in France last year.

“It’s wonderful for the Fijian Drua to have another global brand on board as a partner and we thank them for their generous support of the Club, which of course includes the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua Men and the Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women,” Evans said.

“We are buoyed by TotalEnergies goal of introducing renewable energy options at its service stations around Fiji. We will work with them to actively reduce our own carbon footprint and together with our motor vehicle fleet partner, Palas, we will look to move into the Electric Vehicle (EV) space as infrastructure allows. As we embark on a new season, our fans and TotalEnergies’ customers can look forward to some new and exciting events and promotions.”

Dennis Michael Cuaycong, Managing Director of TotalEnergies Marketing Fiji, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership: “TotalEnergies is thrilled to announce our collaboration with the Fijian Drua. This partnership is poised to bring positive impacts, both on and off the field. We are eager to power the team’s journey to success and contribute to the vibrant energy of Fijian rugby.”

The deal was signed at TotalEnergies Office in Suva yesterday.
