Fiji Wins Again With Diyalowai’s Double

August 19, 2024

Fiji secured their second win at the OFC Futsal Women’s Nations Cup 2024, defeating Tonga 4-0, following a 2-1 victory over Tahiti in their opener.

Sofi Diyalowai who deservedly picked up the MVP award, starred, scoring twice—once in the opening seconds and again early in the second half.

Despite the scoreline, Tonga’s goalkeeper Kalolaine Topui impressed with several crucial saves, but goals from Koleta Likuculacula and Unaisi Tuberi sealed the win for Fiji. Tonga’s best chances came late, but Fiji’s defense held firm.

Fiji will now face tournament favourites New Zealand tomorrow, while Tonga takes on hosts the Solomon Islands.
