Although they lost to England this morning, the Fiji Water Flying Fijians put on a gutsy and brave performance throughout the 80-minute game, only faltering in the second half.
The side began the match with confidence, and Captain Tevita Ikanivere scored their first try from a maul, with Caleb Muntz added a second after chasing a chip kick. This helped Fiji stay in the lead 13–7 midway through the first half.
Winger Selestino Ravutaumada was yellow-carded for a dangerous challenge and England quickly scored through Immanuel Feyi-Waboso and led 14–13 at halftime.
Ikanivere scored again in the second half to bring Fiji within three points at 21–18. The Flyinf Fijians nearly added another try through Simione Kuruvoli, but the referee ruled it out for a knock-on.
A second yellow card, this time for Josua Tuisova, handed England a crucial advantage. During this period, their bench players stepped up, with Jamie George and Henry Arundell scoring late tries to secure the victory. The final score was 38-18.
