Fiji Rugby Maps the Way Forward with New Plans

The setting up of the Fiji Rugby Union Pte Ltd was amongst the topics discussed and adopted at the Fiji Rugby Union’s Special General Meeting in Suva today.

This is part of the proposed governance structure for the organization and all attending unions adopted and agreed that the move was a step in the right direction.

Chairman of the FRU Board Peter Mazey said there was unanimous approval for the governance restructure and the new FRU Propriety Ltd with many acknowledging it was for the benefit of Fiji Rugby.

“It’s been a long road. Now rugby house has a structure, we will be registering and everything will be in order again. We take it to World Rugby next week and then to the World Rugby Council. We have now achieved the goals that they set for the Trustees.”

Mazey also confirmed the adoption of the FRU Constitution.

“We now await the AGM where we can present these exciting plans and chart the way forward.”

The AGM is expected to be held in late July.
