Home owners who are lagging behind in their mortgage payments due to their employment status and would like to apply for the home loan assistance provided by the Fiji National Provident Fund can do so after the country’s superannuation fund pushed back the submission deadline two months.
Applications for the COVID-19 Response Home Loan Assistance has been extended to 31 December 2021 after previously being scheduled to close this Sunday, 31 October.
Members keen to take advantage of the assistance are advised that this will be the final extension to the assistance, FNPF says. Members must liaise directly with their lenders for the submission of their applications.
Chief Executive Officer Viliame Vodonaivalu said: “The uncertainty brought on by the pandemic has disrupted members’ lives through the loss of income from employment and this has affected their ability to meet their loan repayments for investments.
“The Fund will continue to assist these members as best we can to ensure they do not lose important assets such as their properties.”
The Fund has so far helped 1,464 members meet their home loan obligations worth $13.6 million.
